Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all shipping requirements are coordinated and processed in a timely manner to meet customer delivery expectations and company objectives. Specifically, the Dispatcher will have the following responsibilities:

1. Plan and effectively manage all activities related to the Receiving / Shipping Department.
2. Maximize truck loading to optimize transportation costs.
3. Acts as point of contact for drivers.
4. Assists in the collection and classification of all fleet and carrier documents.
5. Works closely with trucking companies to ensure that trailers are docked for loading; efficient trailer management enables orders to be processed and delivered on time, at the best rate and at no extra cost.
6. Coordinate the handling of products released for shipment.
7. Maintains current knowledge of transport regulations and road traffic rules.
8. Receives incoming materials and documents.
9. Communicates daily with customers for delivery follow-ups such as late deliveries, etc.
10. Participates in the search for new carriers.
11. Demonstrates an exemplary level of safety; must at all times promote and value a productive and supportive work environment in compliance with health and safety laws and regulations and Armtec's culture of commitment and responsibility.

Education And Experience

1. College diploma in transportation and logistics management or relevant training and experience.
2. 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position; truck fleet management experience is an asset.
