Ship Integration and Design Engineer – CSEL Product Lead

This position is part of the Rotary and Mission Systems business area, supporting engineering, systems integration, training, sustainment, and in-service support programs for Canadian and international military customers across land, air, and sea.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work on the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program within our Ship Integration team. Responsibilities include designing, engineering, and managing the Combat System Equipment List (CSEL) product for the CSC Warship Designer, coordinating complex technical information across diverse teams, requiring excellent planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the CSEL project and delivery
  • Oversee and manage changes to the CSEL baseline via data management and internal processes
  • Track and report all changes within the CSC program
  • Lead coordination of CSEL requirements, including management in DOORS (IBM Rational)
  • Lead a small team of ship integration engineers (2-5) for TDP work
  • Plan and track TDP tasks using Jira and AGILE methods
  • Manage processes contributing to CSEL artifacts development
  • Provide routine metrics and status updates
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the system
  • Manage a small CSEL product team and extended teams including ship integration engineers and student co-ops
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in engineering or naval architecture, with combat systems engineering experience
  • 5-8 years of professional experience
  • Experience with data/configuration management
  • Experience with AGILE methodologies
  • Leadership and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize demands
  • Ability to acquire NATO Secret Security clearance
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Systems engineering and architecture within defense
  • Ship platform and combat system design and integration experience
  • Technical data package management experience
  • Experience in naval defense domain
  • Knowledge of classification society rules, Windchill, SQL, scripting languages (Python, Perl, DXL, VBA)
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as required
