Job description

As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. As a team lead, you will deploy partners and delegate tasks to create the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing legendary customer service with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. You will be responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles and best of all, you’ll be part of a company that is consistently rated as a great place to work and the people here love what they do.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities
  1. Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks.
  2. Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
  3. Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.
  4. Communicates information to the manager to respond as necessary and create the Third Place environment during each shift.
  5. Assists with new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful coaching as needed.
  6. Provides feedback to the store manager on partner performance during shifts.
  7. Contributes to a positive team environment by recognizing changes in partner morale and communicating them to the store manager.
  8. Creates a positive learning environment through clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and partner performance improvement.
  9. Delivers legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with customers.
  10. Discovers and responds to customer needs.
  11. Develops positive relationships with the shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivations, needs, and concerns.
  12. Executes store operations during scheduled shifts.
  13. Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned.
  14. Follows Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety, to ensure partner safety during each shift.
  15. Follows all cash management policies and ensures proper practices are followed by the shift team.
  16. Follows up with baristas during the shift to ensure legendary customer service is delivered to all customers.
  17. Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  18. Provides quality beverages, whole beans, and food products consistently by adhering to recipe and presentation standards.
  19. Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  20. Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments using organizational tools and collaborates with the store manager to find new recognition methods.
  21. Utilizes operational tools to achieve excellence during the shift.
