As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by deploying partners and delegating tasks to create the Starbucks Experience for our customers through legendary customer service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, contributing to a company rated as a great place to work, where employees love what they do.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to ensure store standards are met and to set a positive example for the team.
  • Evaluate the environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager to respond appropriately and create a welcoming 'Third Place' environment during each shift.
  • Assist with new partner training, providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  • Provide feedback on partner performance to the store manager.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing morale and performance changes and communicating them appropriately.
  • Create a positive learning environment with clear, timely, and respectful coaching to ensure operational excellence.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
  • Identify and respond to customer needs effectively.
  • Build positive relationships with team members by understanding their motivations and concerns.
  • Manage store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  • Follow Starbucks' operational policies, including cash handling and safety protocols, to ensure partner safety.
  • Ensure proper cash management practices are followed by the team.
  • Coordinate with baristas during shifts to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide quality beverages, food, and whole beans, adhering to recipe and presentation standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments, collaborating with the store manager on recognition methods.
  • Use operational tools effectively to achieve shift goals.
