Overview

As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by delegating tasks and creating the Starbucks Experience for our customers through legendary customer service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. You will model and uphold Starbucks guiding principles and be part of a company recognized as a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high-volume or unusual events to ensure store standards and set a positive example.
  • Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager to respond appropriately and create a welcoming 'Third Place' environment.
  • Assist with new partner training, providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  • Provide feedback on partner performance to the store manager.
  • Recognize and communicate changes in partner morale or performance to foster a positive team environment.
  • Provide clear, timely coaching to partners to ensure operational excellence and improve performance.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
  • Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with the team.
  • Organize opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Follow Starbucks policies on cash handling, safety, and security to ensure partner safety.
  • Ensure proper cash management practices are followed.
  • Follow up with baristas during shifts to ensure service standards are met.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Consistently provide quality beverages, food, and products according to standards.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Recognize team accomplishments and collaborate with the store manager on recognition methods.
  • Utilize operational tools to achieve excellence during shifts.
Experience and Skills
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant settings.
  • Ability to direct others and learn quickly.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
