As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by delegating tasks to ensure the Starbucks Experience for our customers through legendary customer service, prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, contributing to a company renowned as a great place to work where employees love what they do.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  2. Maintain composure during high volume or unusual events to keep store operations smooth and set a positive example for the team.
  3. Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  4. Communicate effectively with the manager to respond to store needs and create a welcoming environment.
  5. Assist with new partner training, providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  6. Provide feedback on partner performance to the store manager.
  7. Recognize and communicate changes in partner morale or performance to foster a positive team environment.
  8. Provide clear, respectful coaching to improve partner performance and operational excellence.
  9. Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
  10. Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with team members.
  11. Organize opening and closing duties as assigned.
  12. Follow Starbucks policies on operations, cash handling, safety, and security.
  13. Ensure proper cash management practices are followed.
  14. Follow up with baristas during shifts to ensure excellent customer service.
  15. Maintain attendance and punctuality.
  16. Ensure quality beverages, food, and products are delivered consistently according to standards.
  17. Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  18. Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments, collaborating on new recognition methods.
  19. Utilize operational tools to achieve excellence during shifts.
Experience and Skills
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant settings.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Quick learner with effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail environment and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
