As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team, delegate tasks, and create the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing legendary customer service, ensuring prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, and be part of a company recognized as a great place to work.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to:
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and set a positive example.
  • Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate information to the manager to respond effectively and create the Third Place environment.
  • Assist with new partner training and provide positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  • Provide feedback on partner performance during shifts.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing changes in partner morale and performance.
  • Create a positive learning environment with clear, respectful coaching and feedback.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with customers.
  • Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with the team.
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  • Follow Starbucks policies on cash handling, safety, and security to ensure partner safety.
  • Ensure proper cash management practices are followed.
  • Follow up with baristas to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide quality beverages, whole beans, and food products according to standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments.
  • Use operational tools to achieve excellence during the shift.
Experience and Skills:
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant environments.
  • Ability to direct others, learn quickly, and communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of retail environment and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
