As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by delegating tasks to create the Starbucks Experience for our customers through legendary customer service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. You will model and act according to Starbucks guiding principles, contributing to a company rated as a great place to work where employees love what they do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote Starbucks’ culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain composure during high volume or unusual events to ensure standards are met and to set a positive example.
  • Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager to respond to store needs and create a positive Third Place environment.
  • Assist with new partner training, providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  • Provide feedback on partner performance to the store manager.
  • Recognize and communicate changes in partner morale or performance to foster a positive team environment.
  • Provide clear, respectful coaching to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and performance improvement.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
  • Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with team members.
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  • Follow Starbucks policies for cash handling, safety, and security to ensure partner safety.
  • Ensure proper cash management practices are followed by the shift team.
  • Monitor and support the delivery of excellent customer service during shifts.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Consistently provide quality beverages, food, and products following standards.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Recognize and reinforce team accomplishments using organizational tools and collaboration with the store manager.
  • Utilize operational tools to achieve shift excellence.
Experience and Skills
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant environments.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Quick learner with effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail environment and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork orientation.
