Position Overview

As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team, delegate tasks, and ensure the Starbucks Experience by providing legendary customer service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. You will model Starbucks guiding principles and be part of a company recognized as a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks with integrity and honesty.
  2. Maintain composure during high volume or unusual events to keep operations running smoothly and set a positive example.
  3. Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  4. Communicate effectively with the team and store management to ensure a positive store environment.
  5. Support new partner training through positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  6. Provide feedback on partner performance.
  7. Create a positive team environment by recognizing morale and performance issues and communicating them appropriately.
  8. Provide coaching and feedback to partners for operational excellence.
  9. Deliver exceptional customer service by connecting with customers and responding to their needs.
  10. Develop positive relationships with team members, understanding their motivations and concerns.
  11. Manage store operations during shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  12. Follow Starbucks policies on cash handling, safety, and security.
  13. Ensure proper cash management practices.
  14. Coordinate with baristas to ensure excellent customer service.
  15. Maintain attendance and punctuality.
  16. Ensure the quality and presentation of beverages, food, and whole beans.
  17. Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  18. Recognize and celebrate individual and team accomplishments.
  19. Use operational tools effectively to achieve excellence during shifts.

Required Experience

  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant environments.
