Job description

As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. As a team lead, you will deploy partners and delegate tasks to create the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing legendary customer service with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. You will be responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, and you’ll be part of a company that is consistently rated as a great place to work and where people love what they do.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities
  1. Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks.
  2. Maintains a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to ensure store operations meet standards and to set a positive example for the team.
  3. Evaluates environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  4. Communicates relevant information to the manager to respond effectively and create the Third Place environment during each shift.
  5. Assists with new partner training by reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful coaching.
  6. Provides feedback to the store manager on partner performance during the shift.
  7. Contributes to a positive team environment by recognizing changes in partner morale and performance and communicating them appropriately.
  8. Provides clear, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to partners to ensure operational excellence and improve performance.
  9. Delivers legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
  10. Discovers and responds to customer needs effectively.
  11. Builds positive relationships with the shift team by understanding individual motivations and concerns.
  12. Executes store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties as assigned.
  13. Follows Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and security protocols.
  14. Ensures proper cash management practices are followed by the shift team.
  15. Coordinates with baristas during the shift to ensure excellent customer service.
  16. Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
  17. Consistently provides quality beverages, whole beans, and food products according to standards.
  18. Adheres to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  19. Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments using organizational tools and collaborates with the store manager on new recognition methods.
  20. Utilizes operational tools to achieve excellence during the shift.
Summary Of Experience
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant environments.
