As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead a team by delegating tasks to create the Starbucks Experience for our customers through legendary customer service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles and be part of a company that is consistently rated as a great place to work.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks with integrity and honesty.
- Maintain composure during busy or unusual events to ensure smooth store operations and set a positive example for the team.
- Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
- Communicate effectively with the team to create a welcoming environment during each shift.
- Assist in training new partners, providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
- Provide feedback to the store manager on partner performance.
- Foster a positive team environment by recognizing morale and performance changes and communicating them appropriately.
- Provide clear and respectful coaching to partners to ensure operational excellence and performance improvement.
- Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
- Identify and respond to customer needs.
- Build positive relationships with team members by understanding their motivations and concerns.
- Execute store operations as scheduled.
- Organize opening and closing duties.
- Follow Starbucks policies on cash handling, safety, and security to ensure partner safety.
- Adhere to cash management policies and ensure proper cash handling practices.
- Coordinate with baristas to ensure excellent customer service.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ensure the delivery of quality beverages, food, and products by following recipes and presentation standards.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Recognize and celebrate team and individual accomplishments using organizational tools and collaboration with the store manager.
- Utilize operational tools to achieve shift excellence.
Experience Required
- Customer service experience in retail or restaurant settings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to lead and direct others.
- Quick learner.
- Understanding of the retail environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork ability.
