As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by delegating tasks and creating the Starbucks Experience for our customers through legendary customer service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, contributing to a company rated as a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  2. Maintain composure during high volume or unusual events to ensure smooth store operations and set a positive example.
  3. Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  4. Communicate effectively with the manager to respond appropriately and create a welcoming 'Third Place' environment during each shift.
  5. Support new partner training through positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  6. Provide feedback on partner performance to the store manager.
  7. Recognize changes in partner morale and performance, communicating these to the manager.
  8. Offer clear, specific, and respectful coaching to partners to ensure operational excellence and performance improvement.
  9. Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
  10. Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with the team by understanding individual motivations and concerns.
  11. Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  12. Follow Starbucks policies on cash handling, safety, and security to ensure partner safety.
  13. Adhere to cash management policies and ensure proper practices are followed by the team.
  14. Coordinate with baristas during shifts to ensure high-quality customer service.
  15. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  16. Consistently provide quality beverages, food, and products by following recipes and presentation standards.
  17. Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  18. Recognize and reinforce team and individual accomplishments, collaborating with the store manager on recognition strategies.
  19. Utilize operational tools to achieve shift excellence.
Experience and Skills
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant settings.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Quick learner with effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail environment and strong interpersonal skills.
