Position Overview

As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by delegating tasks and ensuring the delivery of the Starbucks Experience through legendary customer service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks' guiding principles and be part of a company recognized as a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to ensure store standards and set a positive example.
  • Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager to respond to store needs and create the Third Place environment during shifts.
  • Assist with new partner training and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing morale and performance changes and communicating them to the manager.
  • Create a positive learning environment through clear and respectful coaching.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
  • Develop positive relationships with team members by understanding their motivations and concerns.
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  • Follow Starbucks' operational policies, including cash handling, safety, and security procedures.
  • Ensure proper cash management and follow cash register policies.
  • Coordinate with baristas to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality.
  • Consistently provide quality beverages, food, and products according to standards.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Recognize and reinforce team accomplishments and collaborate with the manager on recognition methods.
  • Utilize operational tools to achieve excellence during shifts.
Experience & Skills
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant environments.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Quick learner with effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail environment and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
