As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by deploying partners and delegating tasks to create the Starbucks Experience for our customers through legendary customer service, prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, and be part of a company that is consistently rated as a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events, ensuring store standards are met and setting a positive example for the team.
  • Evaluate the environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager to respond appropriately and create a welcoming 'Third Place' environment during each shift.
  • Assist with new partner training, providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  • Provide feedback on partner performance to the store manager.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing changes in partner morale and performance.
  • Create a positive learning environment through clear and respectful coaching.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with customers.
  • Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with the team.
  • Manage store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  • Follow Starbucks policies on cash handling, safety, and security to ensure partner safety.
  • Ensure proper cash management practices are followed.
  • Coordinate with baristas to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Consistently provide quality beverages, food, and products following standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Recognize and reinforce team accomplishments, collaborating with the store manager on recognition methods.
  • Use operational tools to achieve excellence during shifts.
Experience and Skills
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant settings.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.

  • Knowledge of retail environment and strong interpersonal skills.
