As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by deploying partners and delegating tasks to create the Starbucks Experience through legendary customer service, prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles and be part of a company recognized as a great place to work.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
- Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to ensure store standards and set a positive example.
- Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
- Communicate effectively with the manager to respond appropriately and create a welcoming 'Third Place' environment during each shift.
- Assist with new partner training, reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful coaching.
- Provide feedback on partner performance during shifts.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing morale and performance issues and communicating them to the manager.
- Create a positive learning environment through clear, timely, and respectful coaching to ensure operational excellence.
- Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
- Identify and respond to customer needs.
- Build positive relationships with team members by understanding their motivations and concerns.
- Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
- Follow Starbucks operational policies, including cash handling, safety, and security procedures.
- Adhere to cash management policies and ensure proper practices.
- Coordinate with baristas during shifts to ensure excellent customer service.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ensure quality beverages, food, and products are delivered according to standards.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments, collaborating with the manager on new recognition methods.
- Utilize operational tools to achieve excellence during shifts.
Summary of Experience
- Customer service experience in retail or restaurant settings.
