As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by deploying partners and delegating tasks to create a positive Starbucks Experience for customers through legendary customer service, prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, and be part of a company that is consistently rated as a great place to work, where people love what they do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to ensure store standards and set a positive example for the team.
  • Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager to respond to store needs and create the Third Place environment during each shift.
  • Assist with training new partners, providing positive reinforcement, and respectful coaching.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing morale and performance changes and communicating them to the manager.
  • Create a positive learning environment through clear, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with customers.
  • Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with the team.
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  • Follow Starbucks operational policies, including cash handling, safety, and security procedures.
  • Ensure proper cash management practices are followed by the team.
  • Coordinate with baristas to ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide consistent quality beverages, whole beans, and food products according to standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Recognize and reinforce team and individual accomplishments, using organizational tools and collaborating with the store manager for new recognition methods.
  • Utilize operational tools to achieve excellence during the shift.

Experience & Skills

  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant environments.
