As a Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. Your role as a team lead involves deploying partners and delegating tasks to create the Starbucks Experience through legendary customer service, prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles, contributing to a positive workplace where people love what they do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to ensure store standards and set a positive example for the team.
  • Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate information to the manager for team response and to create a welcoming 'Third Place' environment during each shift.
  • Assist with training new partners, providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  • Provide feedback to the store manager on partner performance during shifts.
  • Recognize and communicate partner morale or performance issues to the manager.
  • Create a positive learning environment with clear, respectful coaching to ensure operational excellence.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and engaging with customers.
  • Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with team members.
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  • Follow Starbucks policies on cash handling, safety, and security to ensure safety during shifts.
  • Adhere to cash management policies and ensure proper cash handling practices.
  • Coordinate with baristas during shifts to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality beverages, food, and products by following recipes and presentation standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Recognize team and individual accomplishments, collaborating with the store manager on recognition methods.
  • Utilize operational tools to achieve excellence during shifts.
Experience and Skills
  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant environments.
  • Ability to direct others, learn quickly, and communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of retail environment and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
