About The Role

Join us in overseeing the day, afternoon, or night shift activities at Dundas, our largest operation in Eastern Canada, and become an integral part of our team.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Develop and instill a site level safety culture through consistent engagement with employees and contractors with an objective of “zero” harm.
  • Lead daily huddles and participate with the JHSC to demonstrate commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ensure front line employee compliance to all applicable local and regional health & safety policies and initiatives, including hazard reporting, risk assessment, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Energy Isolation, and Hot Work.
  • Assist in the preparation for and participation in periodic health & safety site audits.
  • Assist in the administration of the site Contractor Safety Management program, including site orientations and regular audits of contractor performance for compliance.
  • Directly responsible for the development, motivation, and training of all direct reports to maximize their performance.
  • Administer disciplinary measures fairly and consistently to address performance issues.
  • Assist in the site hiring process and manage local collective and hourly working agreements.
  • Promote customer focus, operational efficiency, and performance management within frontline teams.
  • Practice active and passive supervision of teams.
  • Support shift scheduling to meet production demands and meeting daily production targets.
  • Participate in short-term planning and execution of maintenance activities with the maintenance department, including creating job plans and managing maintenance logs.
  • Manage onsite shipping and receiving responsibilities, including loading / unloading trucks, recording parts deliveries, and maintaining inventory records.
  • Work closely with Maintenance to ensure adequate storage and stock levels.
  • Participate in monthly EBIT reviews and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Manage frontline shipping personnel when required and coordinate with sales and dispatch to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Shipping teams to address production-related shipping issues.
  • Support short-term planning and activities in line with the Mining Plan.
  • Ensure compliance with Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) requirements, including site plans, rehabilitation, and dust control.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the site Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Support daily water taking data collection for PTTW compliance and participate in environmental audits.
  • Ensure all direct reports adhere to operational standards to mitigate environmental impact.
  • Inspect site and plant for dust emissions and implement action plans to control it.
  • Monitor pumps and act as a stakeholder contact in the community.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety, health, and environmental policies and promote a safety culture.
