Production & Manufacturing Full Time Toronto, ON

This role will be onsite at our Toronto Facility Monday-Friday roughly 3pm-11pm, although hours may vary.

At New School Foods, our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable food system. Using our proprietary and purpose-built production technologies, we are creating the next generation of meat and seafood alternatives, which are designed to appeal to the average consumer. Our first product is a delicious plant-based filet that looks, cooks, tastes and flakes like Salmon, that’s full of Omega 3’ and protein. All with a lower carbon footprint, zero mercury, and made without harming the ocean.

As a Night Supervisor, you will :

  • Oversee a team of Production Operators as they complete production tasks.
  • Enforce safety best practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production space, including offices, common areas, and laboratory facilities.
  • Adhere to and enforce cleanliness practices outlined by company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Complete various steps of our production process, including weighing and measuring ingredients, operating machinery, and supporting packaging tasks.
  • Implement changes to the production line as directed by management.
  • Set up small appliances on the production line and ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Problem-solve any issues that arise during production, escalating to management as needed.
  • Support quality initiatives, following guidelines and protocols to ensure product integrity.

You will bring :

  • Experience supervising production teams (2-5 years)
  • Experience working on a small production or pilot line is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies used in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift and move some small equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
