Job summary

Panera Bread restaurant in Ottawa, part of the FMI Group, is seeking a Shift Supervisor for full-time work. You will lead restaurant operations during shifts, open/close the store, and strive to meet sales and profit targets while maintaining a friendly team environment.

You will coach and train staff, manage cash reporting and scheduling, and ensure health and safety codes. Evening and weekend shifts may be required; reliable transportation is needed.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience coaching and mentoring staff.
• Strong customer service mindset and communication skills.
• Ability to manage cash handling and staff scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Cash reporting, inventory control and scheduling during shifts.
• Ensuring health, safety and security codes are met and followed.

• Implementing the shift plan and ensuring a smooth production.
• Use planning and projection tools to ensure restaurant is ready for busy periods.
• Identify issues and propose solutions that impact the restaurant’s bottom line.

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for all restaurant operations during assigned shifts, including opening and closing the restaurant, ensuring sales & profit targets are met and fostering a sense of team work.

In a typical day, you are accountable for:

• Cash reporting, inventory control and scheduling during shifts
• Ensuring health, safety and security codes are met and followed

As a leader, you are responsible for:

• Coaching, mentoring and training the team at their workstations during your shift
• Implementing the shift plan and ensuring a smooth production

You will also have the opportunity to:

• Use planning and projection tools to ensure restaurant is ready for busy periods
• Identify issues and propose solutions that have an impact on the restaurant’s bottom line

It is required to have your own reliable transportation as some evening, and weekend shifts are expected.
