Job description

BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for a Shift Stationary Engineer. This is a full-time permanent position located in Charlottetown, PEI.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining various stationary equipment, including boilers, chillers, air compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Monitoring and controlling all systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations during the shift.
  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance of systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions as necessary to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations.
  • Maintaining accurate logs of all system operations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with other departments, including maintenance, production, and engineering, to support operational goals.
  • Responding to emergency situations, alarms, and system failures and taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
  • Assisting with equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications as needed.
  • Ensuring the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  • 4th Class Stationary Engineer's license.
  • 1-year experience working in a manufacturing facility in the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex building systems.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cGMP guidelines is an asset.
