JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shift Power Engineer is responsible for filling out all daily logbooks, and mechanical handover books, as per ABSA requirements. Will also conduct every three hours chemical testing as require, overseeing the blowdowns of boilers, and autoclaves, conducting general maintenance of the facilities ‘A-Pressure’ registered equipment. Tasks include (but not limited to) daily, weekly, monthly, annual equipment maintenance, filling out all logbooks, including handover notes and mechanical logbooks under ABSA regulations. Tasks will include PWO/UWO, and PM as assigned, skills flex abilities, pre-shift toolbox huddles, shift transitions, pre-start up plans and shutdowns, will include the inspections of all steam traps on Autoclaves. Inspections and clean out of Y-strainers, check valves, air regulators, filters, separators, chemical pumps, feed water pumps. Will ensure that the blow downs are completed, water softener systems are maintained, and notify your supervisor of any stock levels that have fallen below minimum requirements.

This role will report directly to the Power Engineer Supervisor who will be supported by the Maintenance Coordinator, and the Maintenance Manager. The Shift Power Engineer will also work closely with all departments and HSE to ensure the safe effective utilization of the company’s ‘A-Pressure’ vessel assets.
