Job summary

Subway Team is seeking a Shift Manager to focus on guest experience, food quality, cleanliness, inventory control, and staff scheduling. The role emphasizes training Sandwich Artists, supervising team members, and maintaining a smooth operation across shifts.

The position requires at least 1 year in a restaurant setting, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds while remaining on feet throughout shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

• Ensuring that great food is prepared & served
• Keeping our restaurants functional, clean and beautiful
• Controlling inventory
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Being a team player

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
