Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity to change the lives of women and play a vital role in transforming the Women’s Emergency Accommodation Centre (WEAC) into a world class shelter offering wrap around clinical support? At WEAC, we support women 18+ who are experiencing homelessness, offering a trauma-informed, culturally aware, and housing-first approach to help them stabilize and thrive.

As Shift Leader, you will provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance to frontline Case Workers while supporting a safe, supportive, and goal-oriented environment for participants. This position ensures consistent application of policies and fosters a strong, collaborative, housing-focused culture. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team committed to harm reduction, participant-centered care, and helping women move toward stability and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-shift leadership, coaching, and decision-making support to Case Workers.
  • Promote and model trauma-informed, strength-based practices.
  • Lead communication across shifts, ensuring seamless transitions and service delivery.
  • Respond to emergencies and security concerns, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Support training sessions, team meetings, and program reporting requirements.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation in accordance with program standards.
  • Monitor and manage shift schedules and staff caseloads.
  • Engage in continuous learning and promote team accountability and development.

What You Bring To The Team

  • A degree or diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Community Support Worker, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with marginalized or vulnerable populations.
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Housing First principles and community resources.
  • Strong understanding of homelessness, trauma, addictions, mental health, and Indigenous awareness.
