Job summary

Stelco in Lake Erie Works (Nanticoke, ON) seeks a Shift Manager to lead safe operations of primary utilities. You will supervise technicians, coordinate maintenance, and drive efficiency on a 12‑hour continental schedule, with opportunities to recruit and set performance goals.

Required are a TSSA 2nd class Power Engineer certificate and 2+ years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or unionized environment. Ontario work permit and valid license apply.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electrical or mechanical maintenance practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to lead a high‑performing team on the shop floor.
• Proactive problem solving and decision making.
• Experience in a heavy industrial or unionized setting is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Administer the safety program to ensure a safe work environment.
• Lead and supervise technicians, apprentices, co‑ops and planners.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Schedule, manage payroll, and prepare maintenance reports.
• Participate in recruitment and screen applicants.
• Set performance goals with Area Manager - Steam Generation.
