Job Overview

Reporting to the Manager, as the Sheet Metal Apprentice you will install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation and cooling systems in residential properties.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include

  • Installing, troubleshooting and overhauling the entire heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Reviewing and interpreting blueprints, drawings and other specifications to comprehend the project requirements prior to commencing work.
  • Measuring and laying out reference points for installation in an accurate manner.
  • Verifying and preparing materials required for projects, ensuring accurate material type and quantity.
  • Working safely and complying with Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant safety regulations.

Essential Requirements

  • Completion of Sheet Metal Apprentice and/or working towards HVAC Journeyperson Certification.
  • High school Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in HVAC installations and repairs in the Residential Homebuilding industry is required relative to the Apprentice level.
  • Valid Driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Conditions

You primarily work on site during regular business hours. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.
