Job summary

Pronex Air Systems, with 29+ years of experience in HVAC, is seeking a Sheet Metal Journeyman or 3/4th year Apprentice for the custom homes division in the Lower Mainland. You will fabricate, layout, and install ductwork for new construction while mentoring apprentices and adhering to safety practices.

The role requires reading complex drawings and working on ladders at heights, with a focus on quality workmanship and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Sheet Metal ticket or actively pursuing ticket.
• Able to perform repetitive work.
• Comfortable with heights and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, layout, and install ductwork for systems on new construction projects.
• Lead and mentor apprentices, ensuring learning of industry best practices.
• Follow safety policies and read/interp drawings (architectural, mechanical, structural) to ensure correct installations.
• Maintain organized and clean workspace and communicate effectively on site.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, layout, and install ductwork for various systems on new construction projects
• Lead and mentor apprentices, ensuring they are learning industry best practices
• Follow appropriate safety practices to access installations and when using ladders, other access ways, handrails, barriers, trench supports, scaffolding and mechanical lifts (if trained/licensed)
• Follow established employment and safety policies and procedures
• Read and interpret various types of drawings including architectural, mechanical, and structural drawings to ensure all systems are installed accurately
• Follow written and verbal instructions in the workplace, on construction sites and trade school environments
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace
• Communicate and interact with others in an appropriate fashion in all environments
• Perform other duties as required

Skills and Experience

• You have the drive to lead in the new construction industry
• You have a Red Seal Sheet Metal Ticket or are actively pursuing your ticket
• You have the ability to perform repetitive work
• You are comfortable with heights and working on ladders
• You are able to lift up to 50lbs
• Work on your feet for up to 8 hours
• Ability to crouch, bend, and kneel throughout your shift
• You have the ability to work with others and independently on tasks as assigned
