Job summary

Wiehler Mechanical Ltd. is seeking a Commercial Sheet Metal Apprentice (2nd–4th year) to join our growing HVAC division in Calgary. You will install and service ductwork in commercial buildings under journeyperson supervision, gaining hands-on experience toward your ticket.

This paid apprenticeship offers competitive wages up to $36.00/hour, a Monday–Friday schedule finishing by 3:30 PM, health and dental benefits, RRSP matching, a tool program, and Friday breakfasts for employees and families.

Qualifications

• Registration as a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year sheet metal apprentice.
• Experience with commercial sheet metal or HVAC ductwork installation.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings and project plans.
• Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces, able to lift heavy materials.
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble and secure commercial HVAC ductwork, fittings and related components.
• Work from blueprints, technical drawings and specs to ensure accuracy.
• Measure, cut and bend sheet metal with hand tools, power tools and shop machinery.
• Inspect and test finished systems to confirm they work and meet standards.
• Use and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Keep a clean, safe worksite and follow company policies and safety regulations.

The Role

Our Commercial Division is growing and needs 2nd to 4th year Sheet Metal Apprentices. You'll work under experienced Journeypersons installing HVAC systems in commercial buildings and gaining the hands-on experience that moves you toward your ticket.

On the Job, You'll
