Job description

AGT Food and Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Settlements Coordinator to join our Regina Head Office team.

Duties:

  • Manage workflow ensuring all purchase contracts due for payment are processed, approvals applied, and payments distributed in an organized manner.
  • Ensure high-quality communication and dialogue with producers and staff.
  • Perform effective verbal and written communication in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Maintain and distribute settlement documents, contracts, and reports.
  • Prepare weekly reports of purchase contracts due for settlement.
  • Ensure all authorizations are complete prior to settling purchase contracts.
  • Reconcile grain receipts to purchase contracts and identify errors or omissions.
  • Reconcile regulatory and other deductions applicable to purchase contracts.
  • Calculate and process payments based on settlement instructions.
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with settling purchase contracts for payment.
  • Process cheques, wires, and EFT payments.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation reports required for the accounting month-end close.
  • Prepare regulatory reports.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the accounting department.
  • Provide backup coverage for front desk reception.

Employment Requirements:

  • Accounting diploma and/or equivalent education or experience.
  • Fluent in English - spoken and written.
  • Strong algebra, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and accounting systems.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
