Job summary

Autismservices is seeking a SWIS Coordinator to deliver critical school-based and community settlement services for newcomer youth and families in Estevan, Saskatchewan. Position

Southeast Advocates Inc. (SEA) is hiring a SWIS Coordinator to deliver school-based and community settlement services to newcomer youth and families in the Estevan area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct needs/assets assessments and develop settlement plans
  • Provide school orientation for newcomer students and families
  • Facilitate settlement programming, informal language learning, and community connection activities
  • Engage school staff on intercultural competence and anti-racism initiatives
  • Contribute to quarterly reports and funder reporting
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage a diverse caseload, and prioritize effectively
  • Comfortable facilitating group sessions and individual meetings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with electronic case management or reporting systems
  • High degree of confidentiality and professional ethics
Community Connections
  • Facilitate community activities that help participants explore local resources and build social connections
  • Coordinate matching activities and Peer Leadership programming for youth and children
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary in social work, education, community development, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong cross‑culture abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with case management systems
  • Valid SK Class 5 licence and access to a vehicle
  • Vulnerable sector criminal record check required
