The Immigrant Welcome Centre in Campbell River is currently accepting applications for a part-time Settlement Practitioner / Community Outreach Worker in our Campbell River office. This position supports Campbell River and the North Island.

The position…
JOB TITLE : Settlement Practitioner / Community Outreach Worker
WORK LOCATION : Campbell River, Comox Valley
COMPENSATION : Hourly rate between $27 – $32 (commensurate with experience)
POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be based in Campbell River, traveling weekly to the Comox Valley. The Settlement Practitioner supports immigrants and newcomers by providing settlement services that facilitate their community integration. Responsibilities include needs assessments, support sessions, resource referrals, and navigating social programs. They also educate non-settlement agency staff about immigrant needs, contribute to program planning, stay updated on immigration policies, and ensure accurate reporting. This accounts for approximately 60% of work time.
Additional duties include community outreach to underserved areas, developing relationships with local organizations, and increasing awareness of MISA’s services (up to 20%). The role also involves leading the development and implementation of a Workplace Inclusion Charter in partnership with MISA’s Welcoming Communities Coalition, including community consultation, project planning, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through training and initiatives (up to 20%).

QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Skills and Attributes include experience in outreach, networking, working with diverse populations, organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, understanding of DEI and anti-racism, and project management experience.
Other duties may be assigned, and work outside normal hours or off-site may be required.
