If you have mechanical knowledge of automated equipment, then this is the job for you! As the Set Up Technician for (Packaging Equipment and Pre-Roll Machine Operator), you play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operation of equipment. You will be responsible for setting up equipment, operating machinery, troubleshooting, performing minor PMs, and ensuring quality standards are met along the way. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, and forward-thinking. This position is based out of Stayner, Ont.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Responsible for equipment setup and changeovers, operating and monitoring equipment during operation, performing in-process checks, and adjusting as necessary in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
2. Perform daily activities to maximize uptime for all automated activities, with specific focus on Hauni/Cantos automated equipment, including mechanical setup, material prep, and running the machine daily.
3. Support daily cleaning and sanitation log completion as required.
4. Assist with development and stabilization of new and existing equipment.
5. Ensure and uphold quality standards throughout production runs.
6. Complete hourly checks, fill out daily log books, and support batch record completion.
7. Perform minor and/or daily PMs to the machine and troubleshoot issues that may occur during operation.
8. Utilize a continuous improvement mindset, and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
9. Adhere to health and safety regulations and operate equipment safely.
10. Keep work areas clean and tidy.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Your Environment: (for production-specific roles only)

1. Physically able to stand for long periods and have good hand/eye coordination.
2. Capable of performing occasional lifting, bending, and twisting, and maintaining a clean work station.
3. Ability to lift 20-30 kg regularly.
4. Work in a temperature-controlled environment, including cool and humid spaces.
