    Course description: This upper level course introduces students to questions of gender, sexuality, two-spirit, and same-sex desire at the intersections of race, indigeneity, and the violences of settler colonialism. Students will engage with work by scholars, activists, and artists in the fields of indigenous and queer studies, decolonizing activism, and cultural production.

    Estimated Course enrolment: 45

    Class schedule: Wednesdays, 10:00am – 12:00pm

    Sessional dates of appointment: January 01, 2024 – April 30, 2024

    Salary: $9,457.89 (Sessional Lecturer I)

    $9,930.79 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term)

    $10,121.76 (Sessional Lecturer II)

    $10,326.61 (Sessional Lecturer II Long Term)

    $10,362.76 (Sessional Lecturer III)

    $10,570.01 (Sessional Lecturer III Long Term)

    Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Indigenous Studies, LGBTQ+ Studies, Sexuality Studies, or related field.

    Preferred qualifications: Doctoratedegree in Indigenous Studies, LGBTQ+ Studies, Sexuality Studies, or related field. Relevant academic background in both Indigenous Studies and LGBTQ+ Studies. Experience teaching in a university environment.


    Description of duties: All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus and lectures; delivering lectures; developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams; calculation and timely submission of grades; conducting scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.
