Course description: Project management has evolved from an accidental job title into a chosen profession with career paths and a body of knowledge. This course covers most of the knowledge areas of the Project Management Institute: integration, scope, cost, time, risk, human resources, procurement, and communications management. We take a practical, applied approach, with the “PMBOK Guide” textbook, in-class exercises, and a team paper on “lessons learned” from an actual project. This is a completely asynchronous online course.

Class schedule: One 3-hour lecture per week.
Sessional date of appointment: Fall 2025
Salary: Minimum level of pay is $9,820.7 (Sessional Lecturer I), which includes vacation pay, and may increase depending on applicant’s level of experience and suitability for the position.
Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement, not the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
Deliver online lectures, prepare assessments, attend Q&A sessions, answer student questions, oversee project updates and marking (with TAs if applicable).

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III per Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
