Course description:
This course introduces life science students to biomedical advances and technologies in medicine, including drug patents, medical device implants, diagnostic and medical device software. Limitations of patent protection in commercializing medical products, and limitations to scalability will also be discussed.

Sessional Lecturer L3: $10760.28;

Sessional Lecturer 3(LT): 11030.36;

All inclusive of vacation pay.

Minimum qualifications
:
Candidates should have a completed Ph.D. (or equivalent) with a demonstrated understanding of current biotechnologies and experience in teaching undergraduate courses.


Description of duties
:

-Preparation of course syllabus and course marking scheme;
-Teaching weekly lectures and tutorials;
-Marking assignments and exams;
-Providing office hours for academic counselling of students;
-Setting and marking assignments/exams
-Providing course administration in accordance with University regulations as described in the Faculty of Arts & Science Academic Handbook for Instructors.
