Job Summary
The Paul J. Hill School of Business invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following in person course during the Winter 2026 semester:
BUS 375 – Managing Information Systems
An overview of management and organizational issues surrounding IS/IT and its interaction with business functions within and between organizations. Topics include: evolution of IS/IT, functional area systems, current trends, strategy, managing and acquiring IS resources, and ethical issues surrounding IS/IT.

The Winter semester class period is January 6, 2026 to April 13, 2026 with the final exam period running April 16–29, 2025. Maximum enrollment is 68. A Teaching Assistant may be provided if requested and available; TA availability is not guaranteed. Applicants should be prepared to teach without a TA.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the course outline, design assignments, evaluate and grade student work, and submit grades on time.
  • Teach course content in line with the course description, learning objectives, and university guidelines.
  • Deliver 26 lectures (75 minutes each) throughout the semester unless otherwise discussed with the Associate Dean.
  • Encourage and maintain a safe, collaborative classroom environment.
  • Provide regular student support before/after classes, during office hours, and as required.
  • Meet all submission deadlines as outlined by the Hill School of Business.
  • Consult with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student-related matters as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • Graduate and/or PhD/doctorate degree in a discipline relevant to the course subject area (note that a bachelor’s degree with relevant professional business experience may be considered).
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with respect to academic reporting.
  • Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is an asset.

Dates and time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
Duration: Winter 2026
