Hill School of Business at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following course during the Summer 2025 semester: This course will be a hyflex class where a portion of students will be participating in person and other students will be participating remotely through zoom.
BUS 250 – Introduction to Human Resource Management and Industrial
This introductory course addresses basic concepts and processes of the field of human resource management. Topics include: human resource planning, job analysis, recruitment, selection, orientation, training and development, performance management, compensation management, workplace health and safety, and employee and labour relations.

The Summer 2025 semester class period is from July 2, 2025 to August 18, 2025. Maximum enrollment for this course is 68 and a Teacher Assistant may be provided if requested and available.

Sessional Lecturers that are teaching in person classes are expected to teach 13 synchronous classes throughout the semester in person on campus.
Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren’t limited to, the following:

  • Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades on time;
  • Preparing content for the accounting lab associated with this course;
  • Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines;
  • Delivering 13 2.75-hour lectures throughout the semester (unless otherwise discussed with the Associate Dean);
  • Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment;
  • Providing regular support to students on course work as required before and after each class, during office hours, and as required by students;
  • Meeting all submission deadlines as outlined by the Hill School of Business;
  • Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student-related matters as needed; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Graduate and/or PhD/doctorate degree in a discipline relevant to the course subject area (note that a bachelor’s degree coupled with relevant professional business experience may also be considered);
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources ( CPHR ) designation;
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal);
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with respect to academic reporting; and
  • Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment considered an asset.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As Per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours This course is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. The Sessional Lecturer is expected to teach on campus for each of the 13 lectures, be in the classroom 10-15 minutes before each class starts, as well as offer regular office hours for their students each week
