The Werklund School of Education, Undergraduate Programs, at the University of Calgary invites applications for a term certain Sessional Instructor position for Summer 2025.
Course Title:
EDUC 535.24: K-12 Early Childhood Education
Delivery Mode: Campus-Based (In-Person)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 13:00 - 15:50 PM, July 07 to July 18, 2025
Course Description:
Deepens students' knowledge on enacting pedagogy in each of the specialization in the program and their pedagogical content knowledge in each specialization including further examination of the Alberta Programs of Study; longer term design of learning for deep understanding of learners.
Term Dates:
June 30 to August 18, 2025. Visit the Academic Calendar for complete term dates.
Position Requirements:
- A completed Master's degree or Doctorate in Education is preferred; professionals with a Bachelor's degree may also be considered.
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level preferred.
- Experience working collaboratively with school and/or community members.
- Ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Creativity, adaptability, and flexibility in teaching approaches.
- Knowledge of the undergraduate BEd program at the University of Calgary and a commitment to inquiry-based teaching and learning are considered assets.
