Duties

The Department of Environment, Culture and Society (ECS) requires a sessional instructor for the fall 2025 semester to teach one course at the Williams Lake campus:

  • SOCI 2010 – Race and Ethnicity

This course explores race and ethnicity as social constructs, examining sociological theories to explain racial and ethnic inequalities in Canada. Students critically analyze processes of racialization and ethnic belonging within Canada and in comparison with other countries.

Location and Community

TRU’s Williams Lake campus is situated approximately three hours northwest of Kamloops, in the scenic Cariboo region, on T’exelcemc territory within the unceded lands of the Secwepemc Nation. The campus offers a close-knit community with a quiet, affordable lifestyle and access to four seasons of outdoor activities, including lakes, hiking, and snowmobiling.

Qualifications
  • PhD in Sociology or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability and expertise in the area of specialization. Lived experience is an asset.
Compensation

Pay Band: $2,575.50 (per credit, Sessional Faculty - Academic)
