McMaster University is seeking a teaching assistant for LATIN2AA3 - Intermediate Latin II, a 3-unit undergraduate course. The position covers weekly sessions at Central Campus, with 11:30 AM to 12:20 PM classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during Winter 2027.

The standard 3-unit wage per CUPE Local 3906, Unit 2 applies. Applicants should have prior university teaching experience and hold a PhD in a relevant field.

Wage Rate*: As per schedule “A” of the CUPE, Local 3906, Unit 2 Collective Agreement, the Sessional Faculty rate is $9,435.73 for 3 units.Applicants must include information regarding current and/or aggregate seniority as defined in Article 20.

A study of selected passages from Latin authors designed to further the student’s proficiency in reading Latin. Attention will be given to grammar and techniques of literary criticism.

The successful applicant must have experience teaching similar courses at the University level and a PhD in a relevant field.

*Supplemented Fees- 15.02(a) The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement.The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount.If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
