The Department for Communication and Visual Arts is seeking a sessional instructor to teach FIRE 2420: Wildfire Communications in the Fall 2025 semester. The course will be delivered online synchronously on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:50 PM.
This course examines the core principles and practices related to addressing, articulating, and communicating about wildfires within British Columbia, Canada, and globally. Students will explore methods of relaying pertinent and timely information before, during, and after wildfires. The curriculum includes key theories, models, and the impact of media innovations, with a focus on ethical considerations, social responsibility, and cultural diversity.
