DUTIES

The University and Employment Preparation Department at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a sessional lecturer to teach a section of the following course in Summer 2025: MATH 0510 (Advanced Algebra).

Course description: ENGL 0600 is a Provincial Level (Grade 12 equivalency) course which prepares students for the demands of compositions required in academic courses. It provides for further development of writing and thinking skills begun in earlier levels. Students work with a variety of rhetorical models for essay development. Also included is a critical analysis of selected works of prose and poetry.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Master’s degree in a relevant field required
  2. At least one degree in English or a closely related discipline required
  3. Teaching Certificate or Instructor’s Diploma or 5 years teaching experience in ABE required
  4. Demonstrated evidence of scholarly teaching required
  5. Experience teaching students whose educational, social and economic backgrounds are diverse, and for whom previous school experience may have been challenging required
  6. Experience teaching ABE preferred
  7. Course work or study in Indigenous literature preferred
  8. Skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) preferred
  9. Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62) preferred
  10. Teaching excellence including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10) preferred

Pay Band: $113.21 - $113.21 (Sessional Faculty - Academic Access Programs (per hour))
