DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a sessional faculty member to teach one or two sections of EDUC5990: Writing in a Graduate Context in Summer 2024.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course aims to support students in developing academic writing skills for graduate-level writing. Through structured experiences, reflection, and small group support, students will identify their strengths and challenges as writers and gain skills necessary for success in an M.Ed. program.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD or EdD required; ABD considered.
  • At least one degree in education required.
  • Expertise in K-12 education required.
  • Minimum of three years full-time or equivalent teaching hours in K-12 settings required.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise demonstrated.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills required.
  • Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62) required.
  • Skills in fostering intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) required.
  • Ability to develop culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10) required.

Pay Band: $2,575.50 per credit (Sessional Faculty - Academic)
