DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Thompson Rivers University is seeking sessional faculty members to serve as Faculty Mentors in courses involving practica, specifically for September 2025. Positions are available across multiple locations.

The Faculty Mentors will supervise teacher candidates in practica settings, working with Teacher Mentors and providing feedback, support, and participating in meetings. Responsibilities include pre- and post-practicum meetings.

Locations:

Faculty Mentors will work within one or more of the following regions:

  • Qualifications include a Master of Education or equivalent, recent K-12 teaching experience, and a minimum of three years of full-time teaching in K-12.
  • Experience mentoring student teachers and leadership experience are assets.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
  • Experience in Indigenous knowledge integration, intercultural understanding, and culturally appropriate curricula is required.
Pay Band:

$2,575.50 per credit, total for the position.
