DUTIES
RESPONSIBILITIES
Thompson Rivers University is seeking one or two sessional faculty members who will teach one or two sections of ECED 1300: Practicum 2 – Program Planning for Young Children in Lillooet, British Columbia from January 6, 2025 until April 23, 2025.
Building on the goals of ECED 1200: Practicum 1, students integrate their knowledge and skills while participating as a team member in child care programs. Students take on additional responsibilities related to curriculum planning, managing a program, and responsibility for documentation with the mentorship of an early childhood educator and a practicum instructor. Students introduce a project to a group of young children, observe and record children's learning, and make the learning visible to the children, families, educators, and community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Of particular interest are those who have successful experience working collaboratively with ECE faculty to support ECE students in planning and implementing innovative educational programs for young children. Experience supporting and evaluating student progress in on-site and community based practica and liaising with community educators regarding student progress is significantly valued.
