Job summary

Flexible Childcare Services Scotland is seeking a qualified or unqualified Childcare Practitioner to join our Banff teams supporting children with ASN. You will deliver high quality care, plan engaging activities, and work alongside the Service Manager to support families and the existing team.

Ideal candidates will have some experience with ASN; the role offers flexible after-school and holiday playscheme hours, with term-time and weekend shifts that suit a part-time position in Aberdeenshire.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified or unqualified Childcare Practitioner to join our team in Banff Aberdeenshire.

In this role, you will provide high‑quality care and support to families with children who have additional support needs (ASN). You will work directly with children with ASN providing engaging activities that meet their individual needs and planning activities within group.

Salary: between £13.45 per hour and £13.79 per hour depending on qualifications and experience

Hours of Work

The Group Times For This Post Are As Follows

Term time – Monday 2.45pm-5.45pm, every Saturday 9.30am – 3.30pm

Holiday periods – Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday & Saturday 9.30am – 3.30pm

Your Qualifications And Experience

We are looking for qualified and unqualified childcare practitioners to come and work in our after school and Saturday clubs and our holiday playschemes. Ideal candidates will have some experience in working with children with ASN.

The Role

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality childcare for children and young people with additional support needs; they will be expected to support the Service Manager and the existing team. This role would be ideal for someone looking to start or further progress a career in childcare and will provide a pathway to childcare qualifications.

The Setting

Our Banff groups are located in the Family Centre and the Academy and are for both primary and secondary aged children specifically with ASN and are part of the charity Flexible Childcare Services Scotland (FCSS). FCSS is a national charity that is unique in that parents are able to book childcare by the hour, pay as they go and change their bookings each week. This flexible childcare model helps save families money on their childcare while supporting them back into education and employment, helping to distance the whole family from poverty.
