Our client in the public sector is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer with expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM) modules. The developer will help implement Service Catalog, Service Portal, and ITSM workflows.
Duration: 6 months
Location: 2d hybrid Toronto
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Service Catalog items, workflows, and request fulfillment processes.
- Build and enhance Service Portal pages using custom widgets, UI scripts, and responsive themes.
- Support core ITSM modules including Incident, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable ServiceNow solutions.
- Develop automated workflows to replace paper-based SAP intake processes using Flow Designer.
- Configure business rules, client scripts, UI policies, notifications, SLAs, and scheduled jobs.
- Integrate ServiceNow with external systems (e.g., SAP) using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to catalog items, portal components, and workflows.
- Create technical documentation, test plans, and support artifacts (UAT, handover, governance).
- Support continuous improvement of platform performance, automation, and user experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with ITIL standards and governance models.
- Produce performance dashboards, SLA metrics, and self-service enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience with a focus on Service Catalog, Request Management, and Service Portal.
- Proven experience developing workflows, catalog items, and complex forms using ServiceNow best practices.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- In-depth knowledge of ITSM practices, ITIL framework, and incident/request/change processes.
- Strong experience with Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, and client/server-side scripts.
- Skilled in ServiceNow integration development using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data governance, reporting, performance analytics, and dashboard development.
- Familiarity with Solution Manager (SR, RFC, AC) or SAP-related IT service processes.
- ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certifications (CIS-ITSM, CIS-Portal) are an asset.
