Position: ServiceNow Delivery Product Owner

Employment Type: Permanent

Compensation Details:

  • Product Owner 18: Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
  • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Laval, Brossard, Vancouver, Calgary, or Halifax.

Team and Job Overview

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group, led by the Chief Information Officer and established in 2023, aims to empower customers and colleagues to take on the world by delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. DTS objectives include:

  • Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model, and technology operations to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
  • Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap to sequence technology outcomes and facilitate execution across domains.
  • Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
  • Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

The ServiceNow Delivery Product Owner plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the successful delivery of ServiceNow initiatives by bridging demand management, release planning, and Agile execution on the ServiceNow platform team. This role manages intake and prioritization of business demands, coordinates release schedules, and facilitates timely and high-quality delivery. It acts as a central point of contact between business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure alignment, transparency, and continuous improvement across the ServiceNow delivery lifecycle.

To be successful in this role, a blend of technical acumen, leadership skills, and cross-functional coordination abilities is required.

What you will be doing

Demand Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for intake and prioritization of ServiceNow-related demands.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units, the Platform team, and external vendors.
  • Maintain and manage the demand backlog, ensuring proper stories definition and documentation, in alignment with the Platform Owner for prioritization and strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate demand review meetings and ensure timely decision-making.
  • Coordinate day to day with external third-party teams and internal business stakeholders, business analysts, to gather, assess, and document requirements.
  • Track demand lifecycle from planning through post-implementation support, including intake and delivery, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Maintain dashboards and reports for demand and release tracking. Track and report on delivery performance and demand fulfillment.
  • Use insights from delivery metrics to refine processes and improve future outcomes.

Release Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee ServiceNow release cycles, including minor enhancements, major upgrades, or new applications put into production.
  • Work with business teams to ensure change management policies are properly applied, the release passes QA standards and documentation is available.
  • Manage release schedules, mitigate risks, and resolve conflicts across teams.
  • Communicate release notes, content, and impacts to stakeholders.
What we are looking for
  • Undergraduate Degree in Software Engineering or related field with 5-10 years of experience in the industry.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ proven experience delivering IT solutions.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and how they map to ServiceNow workflows.

Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Ability to create status reports and metrics.

ServiceNow Certifications: Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA).

Certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
