Job summary

Sun Life is seeking talented professionals to join our Corporate IT team as ServiceNow Associate Software Engineers. You will design, develop, and support enterprise applications powering our global operations in an Agile environment.

You’ll work with cross‑functional teams, contribute to automation, and participate in on‑call rotation to keep production systems running smoothly. A bachelor’s degree and up to 5 years of software experience are typical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Recent graduates with 0-2 years of internship/co‑op experience, OR professionals with 3-5 years of software development or application support experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and integration solutions
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective solution designs
• Write, maintain, and optimize code, scripts, and automation tools
• Partner with cross‑functional teams‑engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders‑to deliver real results
• Participate fully in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives
• Provide hands‑on application support, resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues
• Contribute to clear system and project documentation
• Champion security, compliance, and change management best practices
• Identify and drive automation opportunities that enhance efficiency
• Join rotational on‑call support to ensure production systems run smoothly

What do you need to succeed?

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Recent graduates with 0-2 years of internship/co‑op experience, OR professionals with 3-5 years of software development or application support experience

Technical Skills

• Hands‑on programming experience with languages like JavaScript, Python, or similar
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, shell scripting) -
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts (Agile, DevOps)
• Bonus: APIs, integrations, enterprise systems, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, or modern DevOps practices

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
