You will design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software, translate requirements into designs, and work across cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years for recent graduates or 3–5 years for experienced developers.
• Strong programming, SQL, and scripting foundations required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and integration solutions.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective designs.
• Write, maintain, and optimize code, scripts and automation tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners and stakeholders to deliver results.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: planning, stand-ups, retrospectives.
• Provide hands-on application support and troubleshoot incidents.
• Contribute to system and project documentation and security best practices.
• Identify automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and participate in on-call rotations.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and integration solutions
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective solution designs
• Write, maintain, and optimize code, scripts, and automation tools
• Partner with cross-functional teams - engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver real results
• Participate fully in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Provide hands-on application support, resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues
• Contribute to clear system and project documentation
• Champion security, compliance, and change management best practices
• Identify and drive automation opportunities that enhance efficiency
• Join rotational on-call support to ensure production systems run smoothly

What do you need to succeed?

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Recent graduates with 0-2 years of internship/co-op experience, OR professionals with 3-5 years of software development or application support experience

Technical Skills

• Hands-on programming experience with languages like JavaScript, Python, or similar
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, shell scripting) -
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts (Agile, DevOps)
• Bonus: APIs, integrations, enterprise systems, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, or modern DevOps practices

• Onsite-offshore delivery model experience

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
